Transform Slides into Active Classroom – Making Medical Teaching Dynamic and Impactful
The Medical Education Unit (MEU), Nootan Medical College & Research Centre, Sankalchand Patel University, Visnagar, organized a Faculty Development Program titled “Transform Slides into Active Classroom – Making Medical Teaching Dynamic and Impactful” on 14 August 2026 at Lecture Hall–2, NMCRC.
The program was designed to promote a shift from conventional, predominantly lecture-based teaching towards interactive, learner-centered and active classroom practices. The session was conducted by Dr. Vijaysingh Baghel, Dean, Nootan Medical College & Research Centre who shared practical insights and strategies for making classroom teaching more engaging, meaningful and learner-centered. The session focused on empowering faculty members to transform routine PowerPoint-based teaching into engaging learning experiences through effective questioning, interaction, visual communication, learner participation and classroom facilitation.
The session emphasized that effective teaching is not merely about delivering information through slides but about engaging learners, stimulating thinking, encouraging participation and facilitating meaningful learning. The program witnessed an enthusiastic participation of 92 faculty members, comprising Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Resident Doctors and Senior Residents from various disciplines.
