The Department of Biochemistry at Nootan Medical College & Research Centre focuses on the biochemical and molecular processes involved in human health and disease condition emphasizing nutrition’s role. It explains the biochemical basis of clinical laboratory tests and demonstrates clinical interpretation. Biochemistry knowledge is crucial in distinguishing health from diseases and clinicians use a wide range of biochemical tests for diagnosing disease states. The department has well-developed Clinical Biochemical and Research labs, which perform routine, emergency, and special tests, including endocrines and tumor markers. The Clinical Biochemistry laboratory is equipped with sophisticated instruments like fully auto biochemistry analyzer and hormone analyzer while the research lab has UV spectrophotometers, chromatography, microbalance, and electrophoresis apparatus. Biochemistry is essential in various medical disciplines, making it essential for M.B.B.S. students and practicing doctors.
